Job Description
As a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE-III) in Java/Python at Nykaa, you will play a key role in end-to-end development and mentoring a team of software developers. Your responsibilities will involve creating world-class technology products and platforms that lead the technology revolution in the Indian Fashion ecosystem. This role demands the highest standards for quality, maintainability, and performance, with a focus on defining and adopting engineering best practices.
Responsibilities
- Build and nurture high-performing teams of skilled software engineers; identify and hire top talent.
- Provide continuous feedback to the team to raise the bar in terms of performance and quality.
- Shape team goals by developing a deep understanding of business processes and success criteria.
- Develop and execute a long-term product roadmap and architecture while balancing short-term commitments.
- Architect and develop technical designs and approaches to solve complex problems in collaboration with the team.
- Take accountability for the overall health of the products, ensuring predictability in deliverables.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to define and deliver on team goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field from a reputable college.
- 6-8 years of industry experience in software engineering, with 2 to 3 years of experience directly managing a team of software engineers.
- Prior experience in established startups is preferred.
- Experience with object-oriented design and languages.
- Track record of building and delivering mission-critical, 24x7 production software systems.
- Experience architecting systems on the AWS platform is a strong plus.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and independently drive, design, and implement large-scale software solutions.
- Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results on technical projects.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical aptitude to quickly grasp complex technical issues and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operation.
