As a Senior AI/ML Engineer at Amex, you will be at the forefront of developing AI and machine learning solutions that drive business decisions and deliver best-in-class customer experiences. Your focus will be to
- Design, build, and maintain advanced AI/ML models to solve real-world business problems across domains.
- Develop robust Python scripts and APIs to integrate models into scalable application workflows.
- Collaborate with data engineers, product teams, and architects to embed intelligence into customer-facing applications.
- Document models, pipelines, and processes to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and governance compliance.
- Stay on top of industry trends in ML, GenAI, LangChain, and the RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) framework to bring innovation into our ecosystem.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying ML solutions in production environments
- Strong proficiency in Python with deep understanding of its ML/AI libraries and frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Transformers)
- Real-world experience with classical ML techniques, Natural Language Processing (NLP), LangChain, and Generative AI models
- Understanding and practical application of RAG architecture for enterprise search or GenAI scenarios
- Experience integrating AI/ML into enterprise platforms both batch processing and real-time APIs
- Solid SQL skills and familiarity with data engineering concepts and performance tuning
- Exposure to NoSQL databases and hands-on use of big data tools like PySpark or Google Cloud’s data stack is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux systems and Git-based version control workflows
- A strong foundation in CI/CD best practices and modern DevOps pipelines
- Excellent communication skills and a team-first mindset
- Experience navigating AI/ML governance and compliance processes, particularly in regulated industries, is a significant plus
What You’ll Do
- Take end-to-end ownership of the AI lifecycle, from problem formulation and data exploration to deployment and monitoring.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, while following best practices for version control, testing, and documentation.
- Partner closely with business and product stakeholders to identify opportunities for machine learning, define success criteria, and iterate toward impactful solutions.
- Ensure all solutions are governed by data privacy, model explainability, and ethical AI guidelines.
- Bring creative thinking to technical problems, and act as a mentor to junior engineers or data scientists on the team.
