As a Senior Automation Testing Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping our automation strategy and ensuring the robustness and reliability of our software products. This position demands a hands-on expert who is confident in building scalable automation frameworks, working with cross-functional teams, and driving quality engineering efforts across both UI and API layers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test suites using the WebdriverIO automation framework.
- Build and execute test cases for both functional and regression testing to validate new features and product enhancements.
- Automate RESTful API tests using REST Assured and integrate them seamlessly with the SpecFlow framework.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to understand the project scope and devise comprehensive test plans.
- Continuously improve existing test automation strategies and contribute towards evolving the overall quality assurance approach.
- Perform test result analysis, identify defects, and report findings in a clear and structured format.
- Integrate automated test execution within CI/CD pipelines to support agile delivery and frequent releases.
- Participate actively in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups following Agile methodologies.
- Mentor junior QA team members, share knowledge, and contribute to team learning and skill development.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or any relevant field (B.Tech/B.E. preferred).
- 6+ years of proven experience in test automation with a strong focus on WebdriverIO.
- Strong hands-on experience with API testing using REST Assured.
- Solid understanding of test automation frameworks, software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Familiarity with SpecFlow, Cucumber, or similar BDD tools is a plus.
- Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases ability to write and run complex queries for validation.
- Proficient in setting up and executing test automation in CI/CD environments using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Strong communication skills – ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently, as well as part of a collaborative team.
