Job Description

As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping and securing HP’s cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and implementing cloud security controls, conducting architecture reviews, and providing technical guidance to teams across HP. Key Responsibilities

  1. Cloud Security Engineering. Apply hands-on expertise in securing HP’s cloud presence in AWS, Azure, and GCP by implementing and enforcing cloud security best practices.
  2. Security Architecture Guidance. Provide deep technical insights and guidance to various teams across HP, ensuring secure design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based solutions.
  3. Architecture Reviews & Risk Assessments. Lead architecture reviews to strengthen the security posture of HP’s products and services. Identify potential risks, vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement in HP’s security framework.
  4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement. Work closely with cross-functional teams, developers, and security professionals to ensure security is seamlessly integrated into HP’s cloud initiatives. Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the enterprise.
  5. Security Strategy & Process Improvement. Identify opportunities to enhance HP’s cloud security strategy by evaluating emerging threats, industry trends, and evolving security requirements.
  6. Compliance & Regulatory Alignment. Ensure HP’s cloud security framework adheres to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices, such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Benchmarks, and GDPR.
  7. Mentorship & Leadership. Act as a subject matter expert (SME), providing direction, mentorship, and training to other engineers and teams on cloud security best practices.

Required Skills & Expertise

Cloud & Security Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and a solid understanding of multi-cloud security.
  • In-depth cybersecurity knowledge across multiple domains, including but not limited to.
    • Cloud Security (IAM, network security, workload protection, logging & monitoring)
    • Application Security (secure coding, DevSecOps, API security)
    • Data Protection & Privacy (encryption, data loss prevention, compliance)
    • Network Security (firewalls, zero trust architecture, microsegmentation)
    • Cryptography (encryption standards, key management, PKI)
    • Identity & Access Management (IAM) (SSO, MFA, least privilege access, Zero Trust principles)

Security Standards & Best Practices

  • Strong understanding of security frameworks, industry standards, and compliance requirements, such as NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CIS Benchmarks, GDPR, and HIPAA.
  • Experience with security automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and DevSecOps principles.
  • Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, CSPM (Cloud Security Posture Management), and SOAR.

Soft Skills & Leadership

  • Ability to influence and lead in a remote/virtual environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to security challenges.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, capable of translating technical security concepts into business language for stakeholders.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity or cloud security roles within an enterprise environment.
  • Proven track record in architecting, implementing, and securing cloud solutions.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, or GCP Security Engineer are highly desirable.
