JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing robust data solutions. Your expertise in cloud-based data engineering, proficiency with essential tools, and collaborative approach will contribute to the success of our data initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Data Solution Design and Implementation:
- Conceptualize and implement data solutions for Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and Analytic solutions.
- Apply knowledge of data modeling methodologies, including Dimensional modeling and 3NF modeling.
Cloud Data Engineering
Leverage strong experience in cloud-based data engineering, utilizing AWS native components such as Glue, Lambda, S3, Athena, and CloudFormation.
Ingest and process data in both batch and streaming modes, adhering to best practices for error handling, re-processing, and performance optimization.
Data Pipeline Management
Manage data pipelines, providing production and operations support for data solutions.
Programming and Tools Proficiency
- Demonstrate strong experience with Apache Spark using Scala and Python (primarily Python).
- Utilize knowledge of stored procedures and UDF functions in Python and SQL.
- Experience in code versioning (GIT/SVN) and continuous integration (CI/CD) using tools like Git and Jenkins (Nice to have).
Cloud Data Solutions & Data Integration tools
Utilize expertise in Snowflake data cloud for cloud data solutions.
Collaboration, Teamwork & other skills
- Collaborate with BI Engineers and other groups to ensure smooth data delivery.
- Conduct code reviews of data pipelines, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices.
- Coach and mentor team members when needed.
- Exhibit strong multitasking skills, effectively balancing competing priorities.
- Demonstrate proficiency in problem-solving and effective communication.
Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience in data engineering, with a focus on cloud-based solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
