We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Engineer (Oracle Cloud DBA) to join our dynamic Corporate team at S&P Global. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our database systems, with a focus on Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, cloud database technologies, and backup solutions such as Rubrik and Delphix. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to align database solutions with business goals, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage database solutions with a strong emphasis on Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- Administer and maintain cloud-based database platforms, including AWS and Oracle Cloud.
- Implement backup and recovery solutions using Rubrik and Delphix to ensure data security and disaster recovery preparedness.
- Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and workload analysis.
- Develop and maintain database automation tools to streamline database operations.
- Conduct security audits and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and business stakeholders, to align database strategies with organizational objectives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database performance issues, failures, and incidents in a timely manner.
- Stay updated with the latest cloud database technologies, emerging trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in database administration and engineering, with a significant focus on Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Oracle Cloud.
- Expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, and security best practices.
- Strong knowledge of database automation tools for improved operational efficiency.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills
- Experience with NoSQL and Vector databases is a plus.
- Knowledge of data lake environments, data fabric architecture, and ETL ecosystems.
- Familiarity with public cloud environments like Azure in addition to AWS and Oracle Cloud.
- Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.
