As the Senior Engineering Manager of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) for Adobe Connect, you will lead a dedicated team of engineers to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our web conferencing and virtual collaboration platform. You will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of SREs, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
- Define strategic goals for the SRE team, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Promote professional development through coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities.
- Manage Tier-1 monitoring and incident response, ensuring timely resolution and thorough post-mortem analysis.
- Develop strategies to enhance system reliability, including automation, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Implement robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring regular testing and updates.
- Work closely with engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless feature integration and deployment.
- Act as a key stakeholder in product development, advocating for reliability and operational efficiency from the design stage.
- Provide regular updates on system performance and reliability metrics to cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
- Drive automation initiatives to minimize manual interventions and improve operational efficiency.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, implementing best practices in SRE.
- Encourage a culture of experimentation and learning within the team.
- Manage team resources effectively, balancing operational and project tasks to meet both immediate and long-term goals.
- Involved in hiring, onboarding, and training new team members to ensure a skilled SRE team.
Qualifications
- Education. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience. 10+ years in site reliability engineering or infrastructure engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
Technical Skills
- Proven experience managing large-scale, distributed systems in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong expertise in automation, monitoring, and incident management tools and practices.
- Problem-Solving Skills. Excellent analytical skills focused on delivering high-quality, reliable services.
- Leadership Abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the capability to inspire and lead a diverse team.
- Methodologies. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and a solid understanding of DevOps practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Adobe Connect or similar web conferencing platforms.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).
- Knowledge of security and compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).
- Experience in performance tuning, capacity planning, and cost optimization in cloud environments.
