Job Description

Minimum qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of professional software development experience
  • Experience with software development using C++ and JavaScript.
  • Experience with chrome extensions, web browsers, or other client applications, including web technologies (HTTP/HTML/JS), as well as experience in one of the following: web security, anti-abuse, or threat modeling.
     

Preferred qualifications:
 

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in technical leadership, leading project teams, and setting technical direction on large team
  • Experience with software development using Python and Java.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership as a team lead in an analytical anti-abuse environment, such as fraud, spam or other behavioral abuse.

Responsibilities
 

  • Help ensure the platform and ecosystem are safe from malware, exploits, and user harm.
  • Lead projects in Chrome to provide visibility into Chrome extensions behavior with clients. This includes uncovering malicious activity that has been invisible to Google in the past.
  • Help design features across Chromium which includes: reviewing extension-related designs for security, propose and build new security mechanisms and UX, and help drive the security posture for Chrome extensions ecosystem
  • Work closely with Chrome teams and cross-functional partners
