Minimum Qualifications

- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.

As a Software Engineer on the Core Team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. This includes working on projects that span information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile technologies.
As a versatile Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions. The Core Team is dedicated to building central solutions, breaking down technical barriers, and influencing critical technical decisions across the entire company.
Responsibilities
- Write and test product or system development code.
- Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide among available technologies.
- Review code developed by other developers, providing feedback to ensure best practices and efficiency.
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content, adapting it based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues, debug, track, and resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
