In this role, you'll be at the forefront of delivering highly available online services with cutting-edge features and functionalities. Your primary focus will be on driving qualifications, recognizing patterns, and initiating improvements to accelerate the velocity of new hardware enablement. You'll work alongside a talented team responsible for component-level hardware and firmware performance testing for Azure Storage's massive server fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and deliver high-quality engineering support services for Azure Storage.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define sustainable service solutions for diverse hardware qualifications.
- Drive the identification of dependencies and develop design documents for hardware tests and performance validation.
- Share best practices and knowledge with other engineers to drive improvements based on established methods.
- Monitor telemetry data, perform analyses, and identify patterns to address errors and unexpected issues.
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) to guide and mentor other engineers, ensuring system reliability and uptime.
- Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to emerging trends to enhance product availability, reliability, and performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience.
- In-depth understanding of storage hardware and networking.
- Experience with coding in languages such as C++, C#, or PowerShell.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field with additional years of experience.
- Hands-on knowledge of server hardware, including HDD, SSD, and advanced ASIC.
- Experience in querying databases, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across disciplines and mentor junior team members.
- Passion for driving security and business continuity solutions.
