We are seeking a highly experienced Snowflake Architect to lead and shape the architecture of data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of cloud data platforms, with specific expertise in Snowflake, as well as hands-on experience in ETL, data warehousing, and cloud services (especially Azure).
As a Snowflake Architect, you will be at the center of designing and implementing modern, scalable, and secure data solutions that support analytics and business intelligence initiatives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including SAP BW specialists, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to ensure our solutions are robust, cost-effective, and aligned with strategic business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect Scalable Snowflake Solutions. Design and implement scalable and secure Snowflake data architectures that support current and future analytics needs. Apply best practices for performance tuning, security, cost optimization, and maintainability.
- Data Modeling & ELT Design. Lead efforts around dimensional data modeling, ELT development using Snowflake SQL, and complex stored procedure implementation. Apply standard DWH and ETL concepts in solution design.
- Integration & Deployment. Oversee the deployment of Snowflake solutions, including data ingestion from SAP BW systems and other sources. Ensure smooth data transformation and pipeline orchestration.
- Performance Optimization. Monitor and optimize Snowflake environments for query performance, storage efficiency, and cost management. Identify bottlenecks and proactively implement solutions.
- Documentation & Standards. Create and maintain technical documentation for data architecture, transformation logic, workflows, and operational procedures. Promote adherence to architectural standards and governance policies.
- Cloud Expertise. Utilize Azure Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings to extend the Snowflake ecosystem. Integrate with cloud-native tools and services to enable end-to-end workflows.
- Cross-Functional Leadership. Collaborate with SAP BW experts, business analysts, data engineers, and solution architects to understand requirements and deliver high-impact solutions. Provide technical mentorship to engineering teams.
- Technical Ownership. Take full ownership of data architecture from design to implementation, both for pre-sales engagements and live project environments. Translate business needs into reliable and scalable architecture.
- Stay Ahead of the Curve. Continuously update your knowledge with the latest features and advancements in Snowflake, Azure, and cloud data technologies. Evaluate new tools, features, and approaches to enhance architectural efficiency and innovation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 5+ years working specifically with Snowflake as a Data Architect, with at least 8+ years of total experience in Data Warehousing, ETL, and BI projects.
- Proven experience in data modeling (dimensional/star schema), ELT development, and Snowflake stored procedures.
- Strong understanding of Snowflake security, role-based access control, data sharing, and cost management.
- Demonstrated experience working with Azure cloud platform, specifically Azure PaaS solutions and integrations with Snowflake.
- Hands-on experience with SAP BW data extraction and integration into cloud data platforms.
- Deep knowledge of data ingestion patterns, data quality frameworks, and cloud-native integration pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment with diverse stakeholders.
