Position Overview
As an Engineer on the Data and Analytics Platforms team, you will play a crucial role in building scalable distributed systems that power LinkedIn's Unified Metrics Platform (UMP). This platform spans the data lifecycle, supporting data engineers and scientists in creating ETL flows and metrics while ensuring the reliability and quality of the LinkedIn data ecosystem. This role offers a hybrid work option, emphasizing flexibility and trust in delivering your best work.
Responsibilities
- Designed and built scalable distributed systems for LinkedIn's Data and Analytics Platforms.
- Manage and reduce technical debt to enhance system efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with team members, partners, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with data producers, consumers, and infrastructure teams.
- Drive technical decision-making and problem-solving to optimize customer impact.
- Diagnose technical problems, debug in production environments, and automate routine tasks.
- Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of systems.
- Deliver incremental impact through innovation and iterative software development at scale.
Basic Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent technical experience.
- 2+ years of industry experience in designing data structures, algorithms, and software development (Java, Python).
- 1+ years of experience designing and building distributed systems for resilience, repairability, and scalability.
- 1+ years of experience in building data and analytics platforms or large-scale platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with big data infrastructure.
- Familiarity with modern data stack tools such as DBT Airflow is a plus.
- Experience in CI/CD Kubernetes is a plus.
Suggested Skills
- Distributed systems.
- Backend Systems Infrastructure.
- ETL/ELT fundamentals.
- Proficiency in Python/Java.
