The LinkedIn Tracking Team plays a crucial role in collecting and analyzing accurate user interaction data across web and mobile applications. This data drives business insights, enhances product development, and fuels AI-driven enhancements. Our mission is to build a next-generation tracking platform capable of efficiently gathering interaction data from billions of users across various technology stacks.
Location
This role offers a hybrid work option, allowing flexibility between remote work and on-site collaboration at LinkedIn's Bangalore office, accommodating individual and team needs.
Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer focusing on Tracking for Mobile (iOS), your responsibilities include:
- Design and Development. Designing and developing new features to enhance the collection of member engagement data from LinkedIn's native iOS apps. This involves leveraging mobile OS frameworks and best practices to ensure efficient data gathering across multiple devices (iPhone/iPad).
- Architectural Decision Making. Making architectural trade-offs and applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns to ensure optimal performance. Writing code with speediness and quality to meet project timelines.
- Quality Assurance. Producing high-quality software through rigorous testing, code reviews, and continuous integration practices. Ensuring that all code is thoroughly tested before integration to maintain product stability and reliability.
- Technical Leadership. Providing technical leadership within the team, driving best engineering practices, and contributing to large-scale, cross-functional programs. Mentoring junior team members and sharing knowledge to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Engineering Productivity. Identifying opportunities to improve engineering productivity and data collection practices. Evangelizing best practices and implementing tools and processes to streamline development workflows and enhance team efficiency.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of industry experience.
- At least 1 year of programming experience in Objective-C or Swift.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in data structures and algorithms.
- Strong object-oriented design, coding, and testing skills.
- Extensive programming experience in Swift and Objective-C.
- Familiarity with mobile application design patterns (MVC, MVVM, MVP).
- Understanding of API design and client/server communication principles.
- Knowledge of multithreading and performance optimization best practices.
- Experience in developing scalable, reliable iOS applications.
