As a Software Engineer specializing in Ruby development at Siemens Advanta, you will play a pivotal role as an independent contributor in designing and developing components for EnergyIP®, Siemens' innovative energy management platform. You will collaborate closely with leads and architects, taking full ownership of assigned components and ensuring their robustness and scalability.
Responsibilities
- Software Development. Utilize your expertise in Ruby and related technologies to design, develop, and maintain components of the EnergyIP® platform.
- Automation. Champion automation principles using scripting languages like Ruby and shell scripts to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
- Testing. Write unit test cases and perform integration testing of developed components with other EnergyIP® modules.
- Bug Fixes and Maintenance. Address bugs, provide maintenance, and support continuous improvement of EnergyIP® components.
- Documentation. Create comprehensive design and customer-facing documentation to ensure clarity and usability.
- Operational Excellence. Contribute to the development and enhancement of operational practices and procedures.
Desirable Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech) or Computer Applications (MCA) with 2 to 4 years of experience in software development using Ruby.
- Strong proficiency in Ruby programming language with a good understanding of Unix/Linux environments.
- Passion for working in a fast-paced environment and eagerness to explore emerging technologies.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively under high-pressure situations.
