The Ecosystem & Operational Risk team at Visa, part of the Value-Added Services business unit, is at the forefront of developing critical risk and fraud detection services. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and delivery of advanced data-driven solutions that safeguard Visa's ecosystem and ensure operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, Developers, Project Managers) to develop and implement cutting-edge business solutions.
- Lead end-to-end development efforts to deliver high-quality solutions that meet requirements, align with architectural goals, and adhere to industry standards.
- Work closely with senior technical staff and project management to identify, document, and mitigate risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Effectively communicate technical solutions and project status in business terms, ensuring clarity and transparency.
- Engage proactively in requirements gathering and clarification with business stakeholders to ensure comprehensive understanding of business needs.
- Recommend and implement technical designs that support current and future business objectives.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of relevant work experience; or Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) with at least 5 years of experience or PhD with 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 11+ years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with 9+ years of relevant work experience or Advanced Degree with 7+ years of experience; or PhD with 3+ years of experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java/J2EE, with demonstrated design and coding skills.
- Experience with n-tier web application development and REST APIs.
- Proficiency in Spring or Spring Boot frameworks.
- Familiarity with Kafka, Redis, or other NoSQL datastores preferred.
- Hands-on experience with MySQL, DB2, or Oracle databases.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, and Git.
- Familiarity with Agile and Test-Driven Development methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify and convey complex ideas effectively.
