Join Visa's Cyber Engineering team as a Developer responsible for designing, developing, and implementing large-scale Cyber Security initiatives. As a Security Engineer, you will collaborate within our cybersecurity team to enhance and build various security solutions in an agile development environment. You will work alongside colleagues who challenge and support you daily, fostering a culture of self-managing agile teams focused on unit testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.
Essential Functions
- Develop innovative solutions to protect Visa’s networks, assets, and products, implementing state-of-the-art detection, prevention, and response capabilities.
- Design, engineer, operationalize, and maintain applications and dashboards for use by security teams, with a strong emphasis on automation, scripting, and integrations.
- Demonstrate proficiency in full stack programming, including strong understanding of databases, tool development, and networking principles.
- Identify security processes and workflows to implement automation, support day-to-day operations, and participate in Agile SCRUM activities.
- Create and update standard documents related to processes and tools, fostering knowledge sharing within the team.
- Utilize strong problem-solving and debugging skills to address complex technical challenges.
- Experience in enrolling devices for health monitoring frameworks, gathering critical metrics and telemetry data.
- Contribute to open source projects, demonstrating a commitment to innovation and collaboration within the broader developer community.
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to team dynamics and customer interactions.
Hybrid Work Model. This is a hybrid position, allowing flexibility between remote work and office presence. Employees are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days per week, based on business needs and leadership/site guidelines.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 2+ years with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or 0 years with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 4+ years with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or up to 3 years with a PhD.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in designing and maintaining applications and dashboards.
- Experience evaluating and enhancing Open Source tools.
- Strong proficiency in Python, including web frameworks.
- Agile development experience, incorporating CI/CD using tools such as GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Chef, Crucible, Sonar, and Junit.
- Strong Linux and systems engineering knowledge.
- Hands-on experience with AngularJS for building directives and Node.js for API-centric web applications.
- Experience with Elastic Stack (Kibana, Elasticsearch) for logging and plugin development.
- Network experience including Socket, TCP/IP, UDP, and Multicast.
- Ability to work independently with strong communication skills and self-motivation.
