Job Description

Visa’s Commercial and Money Movement division focuses on capturing new money movement opportunities through card and non-card flows, including Visa Commercial Solutions, Government Solutions, and Visa Direct. We are growing rapidly as we expand our solutions across new payment flows, and now we are looking for a Director of Engineering to lead our B2B Acceptance team based in Bangalore, India.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading the platform/product development teams that design and implement Visa’s B2B payment solutions, including Virtual Cards, Payables, and Acceptance platforms. Your work will drive significant growth in Visa’s Commercial Solutions, expanding product lines and delivering innovative payment systems that cater to businesses globally.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead Engineering Teams. Guide and manage high-performing teams, including senior engineers and managers, to drive technical excellence and delivery across the B2B Acceptance platforms.
  2. Automation and DevOps Excellence. Evangelize and implement DevOps best practices, focusing on automation for improved efficiency in quality assurance, release processes, and developer experience.
  3. End-to-End Agile Development. Oversee the entire development process, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, and retrospectives, ensuring smooth software releases with a focus on continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
  4. Stakeholder Management. Partner with business, product, and technology leaders to align strategies, improve communication, and ensure the successful delivery of B2B payment products.
  5. Technical Leadership. Drive technical insights during release planning, handle complex issue resolution, and provide mentorship to junior team members while ensuring high standards of software quality and security.
  6. Market Research & Innovation. Collaborate with business leaders to conduct market research, identify barriers in Visa’s commercial transactions ecosystem, and deliver experimental designs to enhance product offerings.
  7. Cross-Functional Collaboration. Work closely with product management, operations, client services, and global engineering teams to drive seamless execution and continuous innovation in Visa’s B2B solutions.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  1. Experience. 9+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 7+ years with an advanced degree (Master’s, MBA, etc.), or 3+ years with a PhD.
  2. Technical Expertise. Proficient in scripting languages such as Unix Shell, Python, Perl, and Java. Strong understanding of CI/CD automation tools (Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, Ansible) and experience with Linux/Unix-based application servers and microservices.
  3. DevOps & Quality Engineering. Skilled in the automation of quality assurance processes, including unit, systems, integration, regression, and performance testing.
  4. Agile Methodology. Proven track record in agile environments, managing development life cycles, system upgrades, and continuous delivery practices.
  5. Cloud Expertise. Exposure to public/private cloud environments and experience in cloud administration.
  6. Leadership. Capable of mentoring and managing engineering teams, setting clear priorities, and motivating teams to meet goals and KPIs.
  7. Communication. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
