Key Job Responsibilities
- Long-term Architecture Vision: Take a strategic, long-term view of architecture, actively addressing deficiencies and proposing larger projects to ensure the continuous improvement of systems.
- Business Impact Assessment: Understand the business impact of systems and demonstrate sound judgment when making technical trade-offs to align technology decisions with business goals.
- Team Strategy Influence: Act as a key influencer in shaping team strategy, providing perspective, and offering context to guide future technology choices.
- Exemplary Code Contributions: Submit high-quality code and adopt an approach to work that makes it easy for others to contribute. Uphold coding standards and best practices.
- Engineering Best Practices: Drive engineering best practices, including Operational Excellence, Security, Quality, etc. Set standards for the team to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Conflict Resolution and Consensus Building: Effectively resolve discordant views, finding the best way forward and influencing team members to follow the chosen path. Build consensus when needed.
- Professional Development: Contribute to the professional development of colleagues by enhancing their technical knowledge and engineering practices.
- Team Strengthening: Ensure the team is stronger due to your presence, but not reliant on your constant presence for success.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
