Sr. Technical Support Specialist
We have an exciting opportunity for an accomplished IT professional with strong customer service skills. The Sr. Technical Support Specialist will have a dual role. This position will be responsible for administering all IT functions and providing technical support to AppStream’s internal team, as well as working closely with our engineering and QA resources to provide product support services to AppStream customers and partners.
• Troubleshoot and resolve internal end-user software, hardware and networking issues.
• Maintain company IT and technical equipment.
• Manage procurement and maintain inventory of all technical assets.
• Maintain a helpdesk and trouble ticket system.
• Plan for and maintain disaster recovery and IT security efforts.
• Provide technical product presentations to customers and partners.
• Assess customer’s technical environment and plan software installation and configuration.
• Provide analysis and hands-on assistance in the installation and configuration of AppStream products within a variety of platforms and applications.
• Troubleshoot customer issues and work with other departments (e.g. Engineering, QA) to resolve them.
• Provide documentation and status reporting on product implementations.
Qualifications:
• BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in performing a technical role with 3+ years experience in a customer-facing role.
• 5-7 years of experience in software deployment products. SMS, Tivoli or Marimba are preferred.
• Extensive Windows and Network administration experience.
• 4+ years of experience in deploying software in a Windows environment, integration experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in enterprise customer support for a client-server product.
• Experience in installation, configuration and maintenance of Web servers such as IIS, Apache and Tomcat is preferred.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP stacks and their functionality, networking, proxies and firewalls
• Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting of Windows Server 2000-2003, MS SQL Server 2000.
• Knowledge and troubleshooting of Arcserve Backup software
• Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, VBScript, ASP, JSP and XML.
• Knowledge of software installation internals is preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a strong sense of customer commitment.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible schedule
• MCSE certification is a plus
