As a Staff Incident Response Engineer, you will lead incident investigations, develop playbooks, and continually enhance our incident response processes. You'll independently triage security alerts, conduct thorough investigations using forensic and threat hunting skills, and drive medium to large-scale incidents to closure. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, enhance our incident response platforms, and contribute to improving processes and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Independently triage security alerts and incident reports.
- Investigate incidents using forensic and threat hunting skills.
- Lead medium to large-scale incidents with multiple team members.
- Conduct host, network, and log analysis to support investigations.
- Enhance our incident response platforms and build new capabilities.
- Participate in daytime on-call activities and collaborate with partner teams.
- Automate solutions to support efficient incident response capabilities.
- Provide feedback to improve detection engineering.
- Mentor junior team members and support their technical development.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Information Security, with 4+ years in Incident Response or adjacent areas.
- Experience with incident lifecycle, log analysis, SIEM solutions, EDR solutions, and operating systems.
- Experience with 2 or more areas such as system forensics, network forensics, or threat intelligence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Information Security or related field.
- Technical certifications (SANS, OSCP, etc.).
- Development experience and scripting knowledge (e.g., Python).
- Cloud fundamentals and practical threat hunting experience.
- Prior experience with malware analysis.
