As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role as a technical leader and mentor within our team. You'll design and develop technology solutions aligned with business and technical objectives, while fostering a culture of transformation, collaboration, and results at LinkedIn. This role offers a hybrid work option, allowing flexibility between working from home and commuting to a LinkedIn office.
Responsibilities
- Scale distributed applications, applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns to make architectural trade-offs.
- Write high-quality, unit-tested code, regularly checked in for continuous integration.
- Serve as a role model and coach for engineers, emphasizing action bias and craftsmanship in software development.
- Identify opportunities, evangelize solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build scalable platforms, products, services, and tools.
- Work collaboratively across teams to support and leverage a shared technical stack.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithmic solutions.
- 8+ years of programming experience in Java and/or C++.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree with 9+ years of relevant work experience, or PhD with 7+ years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in designing and building infrastructure and web services at large scale, with strong object-oriented skills.
- Expert knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Proficiency in object-oriented design, coding, testing patterns, and programming languages (Java, C++, etc.).
