Job Description

As a Strategic Programs Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing key strategic initiatives within the organization. Leveraging your extensive experience in finance, payroll systems, and transition management, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence and compliance across payroll functions. Your role will involve strategic planning, program management, and effective stakeholder communication to drive organizational goals forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage strategic programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing payroll systems, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Utilize strong technical aptitude to oversee payroll processes, including design, validation, and compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Conduct thorough data analysis to drive informed decision-making and improve payroll processes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to optimize service delivery and manage relationships effectively.
  • Ensure payroll reconciliation and full & final settlements are handled accurately and in compliance with wage codes.
  • Implement effective payroll controls and validation methods to manage large volumes of payroll transactions.
  • Plan and execute mass communications and inductions related to payroll updates and changes.
  • Provide expert guidance on tax treaties analysis and vendor management practices.
  • Uphold high standards of employee service focus and engagement through effective communication and support.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent.
  • 15-18 years of progressive experience in payroll management, finance, and systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong technical proficiency in payroll systems, compliance, and transition/migration processes.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with experience in team management and mentoring/coaching.
  • Sound knowledge of payroll regulations, taxation, and statutory compliance.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
  • Proficiency in program management, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated expertise in vendor management and negotiation.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic business environment and drive change effectively.
