As a key member of the System Administration team at Visa, your role will center around providing critical support for high-performing applications. You will work in a collaborative environment, ensuring the stability of services through essential maintenance activities. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in various automation tasks, analyze and address root causes of system failures, and be part of continuous improvement in production support processes.
Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Operations and Support. You will work with advanced container technologies and orchestration platforms such as Docker UCP, Kubernetes, and OpenShift, managing the deployment, scaling, and configuration of containerized applications.
- ESXi and vSphere Management. Provide essential support for VMware systems, including vMotion, HA, DRS, and Site Recovery Manager. You'll manage vCenter Operations, Service, and Configuration Managers.
- Kubernetes Ecosystem Tools. Experience with Helm, Kubeadm, Prometheus, Sysdig, FluentD, and other tools will be crucial as you work within the Kubernetes ecosystem.
- Configuration Management. You’ll be responsible for automating infrastructure using configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Automation and Scripting. Converting manual tasks into automated workflows using your expertise in Shell scripting and Python.
- Collaboration. Work closely with teams across Visa, including Engineering and Delivery, to provide seamless infrastructure support for all business lines.
- Security Remediation. Manage the security remediation process, including vulnerability assessment and patch management.
- ITIL Practices. Adhere to ITIL best practices in Incident, Change, Problem, and Release Management, ensuring that these processes are followed to maintain system health and operational excellence.
- Continuous Improvement. Contribute to documentation and the standardization of operational procedures, improving system reliability and reducing downtime.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or 2-4 years of relevant work experience in a technology-related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- A self-starter who can work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux system administration with container experience.
- Proficiency in scripting languages, particularly Shell and Python.
- Understanding of Cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with Configuration Management tools like Chef, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Basic understanding of ITIL v4 processes.
- A good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
- Experience with Software Engineering concepts and methodologies.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve defects.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively present technical and business solutions to stakeholders at all levels.
- On-call support as needed to assist with infrastructure and systems issues.
