Job Description

As a Systems Administrator – Corporate IT, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing Visa’s critical IT infrastructure, including corporate servers, networks, and applications. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our IT systems while collaborating with engineering teams to address complex technical challenges.

This role requires strong technical expertise in Windows and network administration, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in a high-availability environment. You will be expected to proactively monitor systems, resolve issues efficiently, and contribute to process improvements that enhance overall service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide system administration and support for core corporate IT platforms, networks, and applications.
  • Ensure system security by applying patches, updates, and compliance measures while maintaining security best practices.
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve incidents by determining root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Work in complex, high-security, and high-availability environments, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Monitor systems and networks proactively, using tools to detect performance issues and mitigate potential risks.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support mission-critical infrastructure and resolve incidents promptly.
  • Work closely with engineering teams specializing in Windows, Linux, Networking, Storage, Databases, and Middleware to integrate system and application requirements effectively.
  • Continuously improve IT processes by incorporating best practices, automating routine tasks, and streamlining operations.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including configurations, troubleshooting guides, and best practices.
  • Support network infrastructure, including Cisco routers, switches, VPNs, SD-WAN, and wireless networking.
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Windows Server environments for stability and efficiency.
  • Ensure backup and disaster recovery strategies are in place and regularly tested.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR 5+ years of hands-on experience in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of Windows system administration, including installation, configuration, security, and patch management.
  • Solid experience in network administration, including Cisco routing, switching, and VPN configurations.
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, network security policies, and enterprise network architectures.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose system and network issues in production environments.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide technical insights.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and respond effectively to urgent issues.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 system reliability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in system administration with a Bachelor’s degree OR 2+ years with an advanced degree (Master’s, MBA, etc.).
  • Expertise in Cisco network environments, including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD-WAN, and VPNs (Firepower, ASA, IPSEC).
  • Experience working with Arista switching and wireless networking solutions.
  • Working knowledge of cloud technologies such as Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience with automation tools like SolarWinds and Cisco Catalyst Center.
  • Familiarity with SASE solutions and network security best practices.
  • Strong documentation skills, including the ability to create detailed Visio diagrams and network designs.
