Tech Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled IFRS-16 Implementation Specialist with a strong background in finance and property modules to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in implementing IFRS-16 lease accounting standards and possess a deep understanding of finance and SLA accounting. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with IFRS-16 across the organization and requires a proactive individual with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. IFRS-16 Implementation. Lead the implementation and ongoing maintenance of IFRS-16 lease accounting standards within the organization.
2. Lease Analysis. Analyze and classify leases as either finance or operating leases in accordance with IFRS-16.
3. Asset and Liability Calculation. Calculate and accurately record right-of-use assets and lease liabilities on the balance sheet.
4. Journal Entries and Disclosures. Prepare and review lease accounting journal entries and related financial disclosures to ensure compliance with IFRS-16.
5. Policy Development. Develop and maintain comprehensive lease accounting policies and procedures that align with IFRS-16 requirements.
6. Collaboration. Work closely with various departments to identify, document, and manage lease agreements, ensuring all leases are properly accounted for.
7. Impairment Testing. Conduct regular impairment tests on lease assets and make necessary adjustments to reflect true financial value.
8. Regulatory Compliance. Stay up-to-date with IFRS-16 requirements and regulatory changes, ensuring ongoing compliance across the organization.
9. Training and Support. Provide training and support to internal teams on IFRS-16 implementation and ongoing management.
10. Audit and Review. Regularly review and audit lease accounting records to ensure accuracy and adherence to IFRS-16 standards.

Required Skills

1. Professional Certification. Chartered Accountant (CA), ACCA, CMA, or equivalent certification is required.
2. IFRS-16 Expertise. In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with IFRS-16 lease accounting standards.
3. Financial Acumen. Strong experience in financial reporting, analysis, and accounting principles.
4. Analytical Skills. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
5. Organizational Skills. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
6. Communication. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in delivering training sessions.
7. Technical Proficiency. Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems, with a strong understanding of SLA accounting.
