Job Description

The Visa Direct team is seeking a Technical Product Manager with a strong technical background and a passion for product ownership to drive the growth and innovation of our products. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to contribute to the development of new features and services.

Responsibilities

  1. Product Strategy & Roadmap. Collaborate with business sponsors and product managers to develop and refine the product strategy and roadmap.
  2. Requirements Definition. Influence stakeholders to define product requirements and translate high-level requirements into detailed specifications for engineering teams.
  3. Solution Development. Lead white-boarding sessions with business sponsors and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to craft solutions for product requirements.
  4. Product Development Planning. Partner with architects and development leads to create detailed development plans and roadmaps.
  5. Agile Product Ownership. Act as Product Owner during Agile planning and execution, ensuring requirements are clear and actionable.
  6. Execution Support. Provide requirements clarification during the execution cycle and manage bottlenecks, escalations, and trade-offs to balance business needs with technical constraints.
  7. Customer & Partner Engagement. Engage with customers and partners to drive product adoption and co-solutioning efforts.
  8. Innovation & Change. Foster innovation by leveraging new technologies and championing impactful changes within the product portfolio.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  1. Experience. 6+ years with a bachelor’s degree or 4+ years with an advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD).
  2. Technical Expertise. Proven experience managing products built using Java technologies, APIs (SOAP & REST), and Web & Mobile Development.
  3. Payments Industry. Experience working within the Payments space.
  4. Agile Proficiency. Hands-on experience in developing roadmaps, writing user stories, grooming product backlogs, and managing conflicting requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience. 8+ years of relevant work experience or 5+ years with a bachelor’s degree, 2+ years with an advanced degree, or 0 years with a PhD.
  2. Complex Software Systems. Track record of successfully delivering complex software systems or services.
  3. Collaboration Skills. Exceptional ability to collaborate and drive consensus across global, cross-functional teams.
  4. Communication Skills. Outstanding communication skills with diverse audiences, including executives, product teams, and technology stakeholders.
  5. Business Acumen. Strong understanding of business and technical aspects, with a proactive, strategic, and organized approach.
  6. Learning & Adaptability. Quick learner with a 'can do' attitude, balancing strategic vision with detailed execution.
