Job Description

As a Test Automation Architect at Infosys, you will be responsible for leading and shaping the test automation strategy for large-scale enterprise projects. This includes designing and implementing robust test automation frameworks, defining automation roadmaps, and working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate automation into agile and DevOps processes. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our clients can meet their technology goals while optimizing quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead Automation Strategy. Define and implement comprehensive test automation strategies for enterprise-level projects. Design frameworks that can scale to meet complex business requirements and evolving technology landscapes.
  2. Test Framework Design & Execution. Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of test automation frameworks using industry-leading tools such as Selenium, Rest Assured, TOSCA, UFT, and others. Ensure seamless test execution across UI, API, and mobile platforms.
  3. Agile & DevOps Integration. Work closely with development and QA teams to integrate automation testing into Agile and DevOps processes. Champion the shift-left approach to quality, ensuring automated testing is embedded early in the development lifecycle.
  4. CI/CD & Tooling. Lead the integration of test automation into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub, Bamboo, and Bitbucket. Drive best practices for automated testing in continuous integration environments.
  5. Mentorship & Leadership. Provide leadership and mentorship to a global team of automation engineers. Foster a collaborative environment, promoting best practices and continuous learning. Support team members in overcoming challenges and improving their technical skills.
  6. Stakeholder Collaboration. Partner with business stakeholders, project managers, and other teams to define test automation requirements and deliver solutions that align with business goals. Provide regular updates on test progress, results, and challenges.
  7. Process Improvement & Innovation. Continuously evaluate and improve the test automation processes and frameworks. Stay up to date with emerging trends in automation, AI/ML-driven testing, and other cutting-edge technologies to propose innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and quality.
  8. Problem Solving & Troubleshooting. Investigate and resolve complex automation issues, ensuring high-quality test execution and accurate results. Use your expertise to troubleshoot failures and recommend solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

  1. Education. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  2. Experience. 8-12 years in Information Technology with a strong focus on Test Automation. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Test Automation Architecture or a similar role.

Technical Expertise

  • Extensive experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, UFT One, Playwright, TOSCA, and Appium.
  • Strong expertise in API/Microservices Testing using tools like Rest Assured, Postman, and other REST API testing tools.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools like Jenkins, GitHub, Bamboo, and Bitbucket.
  • Strong experience in BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) and TDD (Test-Driven Development) using tools like Cucumber, Serenity, and Playwright-BDD.
  • Programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, Shell, PL/SQL, and Perl.
  • Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, and mocking solutions.
  • Experience with Mobile Test Automation (e.g., UFT Mobile, Appium, etc.) and testing tools like Service Virtualization (Mockoon, CA Lisa).

Process Expertise

  • Hands-on experience in Agile and DevOps environments.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and automation-first principles.
  • Ability to mentor and lead automation teams in complex environments.
  • Collaboration Tools: Experience with JIRA, Rally, ALM, and Bitbucket.

Additional Skills

  • Exposure to AI/ML in QA, RPA, or Analytics-driven testing is a plus.
  • Experience with GenAI tools (like GitHub Copilot) is an advantage.
  • Experience with mobile automation and cloud-based testing tools.
  • Expertise in API Virtualization, Performance Testing, or RPA tools.
  • Familiarity with emerging trends such as AI in testing or Analytics-driven QA.

Compensation & Benefits

  1. Salary Range. AUD $139,384 - AUD $142,520 annually.
