Job Description

The primary objective of this role is to prepare and execute test cases for products, platforms, or solutions to be deployed at the client’s end, ensuring that they meet 100% quality assurance standards. The Test Engineer will work closely with the development team to identify, capture, and test all necessary requirements while continuously striving for process automation, efficiency, and maintaining a high level of quality.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Case Design

  • Understand the business requirements and corresponding testable conditions to author clear and comprehensive test cases.
  • Design detailed test plans, covering all aspects of the solution to be deployed, and ensure these test cases are peer-reviewed and aligned with business goals.

Test Implementation & Execution

  • Implement Wipro’s testing methodology using Model-Based Testing for efficient test generation and execution.
  • Ensure that test cases are well documented and tested with minimal rework by collaborating effectively with the development team.
  • Define the testing scope, parameters, and out-of-scope criteria while participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Automate test processes, including setting up environments, developing VB macros, scheduling, and GUI automation.
  • Execute software validation tests, ensuring all test cases are executed and defects are logged with detailed descriptions and replication steps.

Defect Management

  • Identify, document, and report test defects in accordance with defined project norms.
  • Work with development teams to identify bug issues, file defect reports, and track test progress to ensure timely resolution.

Reporting & Stakeholder Communication

  • Provide regular feedback on test execution progress, including creating and releasing test status dashboards at the end of each cycle.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including reporting test outcomes, test execution status, and defect management.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of work items within the project timelines and SLA, ensuring no slippage or rejection of deliverables.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Continuously improve testing processes by leveraging emerging technologies and automation tools to enhance testing efficiency.
  • Develop and implement automation frameworks for test scenarios and maintain reporting dashboards to track progress.
  • Provide constructive feedback on the product’s usability and serviceability, ensuring traceability of issues and quality risks.

Client & Internal Collaboration

  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including Lead Test Engineers, Project Managers, and Software Developers to ensure smooth test execution.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients to provide timely support and solutions that meet their testing requirements.
