My client (a St. Louis based company) is looking for a software engineers to work on a redesign of a successful communications focused product. Design experience is a plus, and a solid OO focus is essential. There is something for everyone here, it is a complex system with device oriented development as well as sophisticated business layers. What more is there, really? This position is for a person having significant software experience. The individual must be able to operate independently with a minimum of direction. Duties are primarily to implement the architectural elements specified by the software staff engineer although the ability to perform other functions will occasionally be required. These may include interfacing with other staff to clarify or develop requirements, or to assist customers with software specific problems. Occasional development of non-product related software tools may be required. The primary development environment is expected to be Microsoft Windows XP (possibly also Windows CE) using Microsoft Visual Studio and Visual C++ in conjunction with Source Safe. However, the software engineer is expected to be able to assist in the migration to other tools if deemed necessary for the operations of the company. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Implement software architectural elements as defined by the software staff engineer. Software Design Coding Testing Development of software tools. Perform other software duties as necessary to support company objectives. Participate in design and code reviews MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS At least 5 years experience in software development including software design experience. Minimum of BSCE or equivalent. Specific experience should be: 5+ years C++ 3+ years MFC 1+ years SQL HTML/Javascript
