Expanded Claude AI Access for All Three U.S. Government Branches

Anthropic claude

Anthropic is breaking down barriers to AI adoption in the public sector by offering Claude for Enterprise and Claude for Government to all three branches of the U.S. government, including federal civilian executive agencies, as well as the legislative and judiciary branches, at a symbolic price of just $1.

As AI technology revolutionizes industries worldwide, Anthropic aims to empower federal workers with cutting-edge AI tools to serve the American people better. By eliminating cost obstacles, government agencies can now leverage the same advanced AI models that are already delivering measurable benefits in the private sector.

How Government Agencies Can Access Claude?

Anthropic’s collaboration with the General Services Administration (GSA) has been pivotal in facilitating AI access for federal entities. Following Claude’s recent addition to the GSA schedule, which simplified the procurement process, this new offer further expands availability.

Government agencies can choose between Claude for Government, which supports FedRAMP High workloads to handle sensitive but unclassified information securely, and Claude for Enterprise. Both offerings provide access to Anthropic’s latest frontier AI models with continuous updates as new features become available.

To support smooth integration, Anthropic will provide dedicated technical assistance to help agencies quickly embed AI into their productivity tools and mission-critical workflows. This initiative is set to run for one year, making AI adoption both affordable and manageable.

Proven Success in Critical Government Missions

Claude has already earned the trust of government organizations engaged in vital work. The Department of Defense, for example, selected Claude under a $200 million agreement with the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office to enhance national security capabilities.

At Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, over 10,000 scientists and researchers use Claude daily to accelerate scientific discovery. Meanwhile, the District of Columbia Department of Health deployed Claude to improve access to health services in multiple languages for local residents.

These deployments are possible because Claude meets the highest government security standards. Certified at FedRAMP High, the most rigorous standard for unclassified sensitive data, Claude integrates seamlessly with secure infrastructures via partnerships with AWS, Google Cloud, and Palantir, ensuring agencies maintain complete control over their data.

Looking Ahead: Accelerating AI Adoption in Government

This expanded AI access initiative underscores Anthropic’s commitment to driving AI adoption throughout the federal government. The goal is to equip public sector organizations with powerful AI tools to solve complex challenges from advancing scientific research to enhancing constituent services.

Anthropic is working closely with the GSA and other government partners to implement this program efficiently and looks forward to helping agencies harness AI’s transformative potential.

Anthropic also encourages other technology providers to follow suit, ensuring the U.S. government can operate with maximum efficiency and security in an increasingly digital future.
