Google’s Gemini is getting a serious intelligence boost. One of the most-requested features is finally here — Gemini Deep Research can now connect directly to your Gmail, Google Drive (including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and PDFs), and Google Chat.

This integration allows Gemini to pull relevant data from your personal workspace and weave it seamlessly into research, analysis, and reporting — all while maintaining privacy and user control.

Research That Actually Knows Your Work

Until now, Deep Research could only analyze web-based content. With this update, it can also reference the materials you and your team already have — from brainstorm notes and project plans to spreadsheets, presentations, and email threads.

For example, you can:

  • Run a market analysis by having Deep Research analyze your team’s internal docs, email exchanges, and project plans — all in one go.

  • Create a competitive report that cross-references public data with internal strategy documents, pricing sheets, and chat discussions.

  • Summarize long conversations or documents across Drive and Gmail, giving you quick, contextual insights.

It’s a step toward making Gemini not just a research assistant — but a true knowledge collaborator.

How to Use It

To try it out:

  1. Open Gemini on desktop.

  2. Go to the Tools menu and select “Deep Research.”

  3. Choose which sources you want to include — Gmail, Drive, Docs, Chat, and the web.

From there, Gemini will use all available context to deliver a more complete and connected analysis.

The feature is available now for all Gemini users on desktop, with mobile support rolling out in the coming days.

A More Connected AI Workspace

By blending data from your personal workspace with web intelligence, Gemini is evolving into a true AI research hub — one that understands not just what’s on the internet, but what’s in your workflow.

It’s another step toward Google’s vision of AI that works with your context, not just your queries.
