Hey Yusuf, SignalR provides a persistent connection and even if the Client/Server disconnects then SignalR automatically reconnects both...May be persistent connection is something which is advantageous in SignalR.. May be I am wrong!!! I have read about Comet but never tried it... But will surely update you back soon... Thank u!!!

One of my friends posted the Fall 2012 link on my Facebook account.. In that there was a brief description about SignalR... So just checked it out and I started liking it... Will post few more articles on SignalR soon, buut don't get enough time...Anyways, thanks... :D
