transparent controls in mdi parent form using c#

The code you suggested is not working.

public Form1()
{
InitializeComponent();
label1.BackColor = Color.Transparent;
}

I have mdi parent form and i have a image which is set through coding, that can be seen at runtime, but label or any other control if used, I tried panel, label, menustrip but no control is appearing transparent.

Please see the below code in form constructor. ie while form loads.

{
InitializeComponent();
label1.BackColor = Color.Transparent;
}
