Translate A Document In SharePoint 2013 And Office 365 Using Nintex Workflows

Welcome to an article on how to translate document in SharePoint 2013 and Office 365 using Nintex Workflows. This article will display the action “Translate Document” so that all my developer friends don’t have to spend much time and effort while using this function in their projects.

Let’s see the implementation of this functionality.

  • Create a Document Library, Dev Doc.

  • Click on the Library tab on the top ribbon and click on Nintex Workflows.

  • You will see the following screen, to create a new workflow.

  • Click on “Create new workflow”.

  • You will come to the design phase of the Nintex workflows.

  • Add the action “Translate Document” either by right click on the workflow or by dragging and dropping from the left toolbox.

  • Now let’s configure it.

  • When you double click on the action the following screen opens up.

      Item: Choose the item or the document which you want to translate.

      Language: You can select any of the languages from the drop down to which you want to convert the document to.

      Document Library: Specify the library where you want this translated document to be stored. As for me, I will save in the same library.

  • Now we have configured our workflow, let’s go and publish it to use it.

  • Click Publish on the left corner of the ribbon of Nintex Designer.

    Click on Publish

  • You will see the following screen:

  • Give your workflow a name.

  • Description.

  • Choose your task list where it should store the tasks. It will be Workflow Tasks by default.

  • Choose your history list where it should store the history logs. It will be Workflow History by default.

  • Start Options:

      - You can either start your workflow manually.

      - Or you can start your workflow automatically when an item is created. In our case we will start this workflow when items are created.

      - Or you can start your workflow automatically when an item is modified.

  • Click Publish

  • Your workflow will get published.

Scenario

Upload a document in the library “DevDoc” as per the following  screenshot:

An item gets created named Translate Document file.

The file has the following content.

As soon as I uploaded my document, my Translated document also gets created on my library.

Translate_es is the file which got generated and when you open it, you will find the content translated to Spanish, as my language selected.

Here we saw a document which was uploaded as the name “Translate” having content in English, got a copy of the document in Spanish as Translate_es with no extra effort of translating them.
