First, you open your Hard Drive, whichever you want and right-click on your Hard Drive and select the Properties.
 
In the Property, you click on the Tool tab and click on the Check Button under the Error Checking. Error Checking automatically finds errors related to files and folders by scanning. Optionally any file system errors can be attached and a report generated. If you want to see the errors then you login to an Administrator account if you have logged in as some other user.

In Desktop mode, you click on the Computer or Click on Libraries.
