Restrict User From Changing Color Scheme In Windows 8

Introduction

 
In this article, we are explaining how to prevent the user from changing the Color Scheme of the current Desktop theme in Windows 8. By default the setting is "Not Configured" and users can change the color scheme. This setting can force the theme color scheme to always be the default color scheme.
 
Windows 8 helps you "Prevent Changing Color Scheme". If you "Enable" this setting, then a user can not change the color scheme of the current Desktop theme. If you set this setting to "Disable" or "Not Configured" then a user may change the color scheme of the current Desktop theme.
 
You click on "Enabled" Button to disable the color scheme of the current Desktop theme. Windows 8 provides the ability to disable the changing color scheme of the current Desktop theme. If you want to disable changing the color scheme then you can open the "gpedit.msc". You enter the gpedit.msc in the search box and click on it and follow the steps. These steps are given below with the help of figures.
 

Steps How to Prevent Changing Color Scheme in Windows 8

 
Step 1
 
Move the cursor on the bottom-right and select the search box and enter into the search box what you want.

In the search box, you enter the gpedit.msc under the application tab and click on the window that is shown.

In the window that is shown, you will see the "Local Group Policy Editor" window.

In this step, I want to prevent changing the Color Scheme. Click on the User Configuration sub-category Administrative Template sub-category Control Panel sub-category Personalization and click on the "Prevent Changing Color Scheme".

Step 5
 
In this step right-click on the "Prevent Changing Color Scheme" and select the edit tab and click on the edit tab.

In this step, if you click on the "Enabled" Button then you cannot change the color scheme of the current Desktop theme. If you click on "Disabled" or "Not Configured" then you can change the color scheme of the current Desktop theme. You click the "Enabled" Button to disable changing the color scheme of the current Desktop theme and click on the "Apply" or "OK" Button.
