Hide Table Fields In QlikView Application

Introduction

In the QlikView application, the table fields will be hidden from using HidePrefix.

The following is the basic procedure for hidding fields in a QlikView application.

Step 1: Open the QlikView application

In this step you need to open the QlikView application then go to File-> New then this window will be opened.



Step 2: Open edit script

The second step is to open the edit script window.



Then, this window will be opened.



Step 3: Open table files

Simply click on the table files to open the Excel files.



Step 4: Open local files window

Then this window will be opened and in this window we upload an Excel file and click on the Open button.



Step 5: Then the file wizard type window will be opened. Here you can see our Excel table and click on the Finish button.



Step 6: Code of edit script and reload

After this step you can see this code in the edit script and reload it.



Step 7: Save file

The next step is we need to save our QlikView file.



Step 8: Sheet property window

The Sheet property window will be opened and simply click on the OK button.



Step 9: Then this window will be opened.



Step 10: Hide fields

Now the next step is to open the edit script and write the code of the edit script and again reload it.



Now here we hide the fields that we want.



Step 11: Sheet property window

In this window, you will see the hidden fields and simply click on the OK button.

Example

I hid two fields in our source code, Title and Salary. You will then see that those two fields are not displaying.



Step 12: Open the table viewer

The next step is to open the table viewer from the file menu option and select table viewer.



Then this window will be opened and click on the OK button.



Step 13: Select list box

Do right-click anywhere in the blank sheet and select New sheet object-> List Box.



Step 14: New list box

In this window, in the General tab you need to select a field expression and then this window will be opened; there will be a write a hide table field name and click on the OK button.



Then this window will be opened and click on the OK button.



Step 15: Then you will see the hidden table field will display.



Step 16: If you want to change the label name of the hidden field then simply go to the property of this field.



Step 17: Then you can change the title name, in the General tab there is an option given for the title name. From here you can change the title name and click on the OK button.



Step 18: Now you can see the change title name of the field and it is the final window.
