If you’re upgrading from an older version, our guides will walk you through the process. For bigger projects, our Success Plans can make the transition smoother.

We’ll also cover these updates in our live stream on August 19th.

Unity AI Beta – Build Smarter, Faster

Unity AI is included in Unity 6.2 (Beta) to reduce repetitive work and let you focus on creativity. Here’s what it can do,

  • Check assets quickly: Get help with GameObjects, scripts, and Prefabs.
  • Automate bulk edits: Rename, organize, or adjust multiple items at once.
  • Debug faster: See explanations for errors and scripts right in the Editor.
  • Learn Unity tools: Step-by-step guidance for features like Colliders or VFX Graph.
  • Set up scenes easily: Use text commands to place and arrange objects.
  • Create placeholder assets: Instantly generate sprites, textures, animations, or sounds.

During the Beta, you get unlimited Unity Points to test AI features. These points will only expire once Unity AI becomes a paid service.

We’d love your feedback. Check out the AI roadmap and share your thoughts.

Data Transparency and Control

Data Transparency

Unity AI puts developers in control.

  • Data sharing is off by default.
  • If you opt in, Unity may use prompts and metadata to improve AI, but runtime builds and media assets (images, meshes, audio, etc.) are never shared.
  • You can manage all AI settings in the Unity Dashboard.

Recent updates include

  • An org-wide on/off switch for AI features.
  • Option to hide the AI button in the Editor.
  • Clearer guidelines on how AI uses third-party models.
  • Improved AI models for better results.
  • Visual graphs to track AI activity inside Unity.

What’s New in Unity 6.2?

Beyond AI, this release adds.

  • Android XR Updates: Hand Mesh support, Dynamic Refresh Rate, and Visibility Mesh Occlusion for better performance.
  • Graph Toolkit API: Build custom graph tools inside the Editor.
  • Mesh LOD at Import: Auto-generate levels of detail to save time.
  • World Space UI (UI Toolkit): Render UI directly in 3D worlds, great for XR and immersive games.
  • Developer Data Framework: More control over how your data is used.
  • New Diagnostics Tools: Track performance with improved crash and ANR reports.

Unity 6.2 is an Update release, giving you LTS-level support (bug fixes and platform updates) until the next release so you can stay current without sacrificing stability.

Conclusion

Unity 6.2 makes game development faster, smarter, and more stable. With Unity AI Beta, new XR tools, and better performance features, this update helps you create with confidence and prepare for the future.
