Hi !

Here i will show you step by step procedure to how to get start to create a asp.net website in Visual Studio 2005 / 2008, and work with Text Box Standard Control…

__________________________________________________

So follow these steps to create a asp.net website :-

The Steps are :

1- Start -> All Programs -> Visual Studio 2005 or Visual Studio 2008

I am using Visual Studio 2008

Now The Visual Studio will Open like this :-

2- Now go to File Menu -> New -> Web Site

When you will click on the the New Web Site a new form will open like this:-

3- Under Visual Studio Installed Template-> Choose ASP.NET WEB SITE -> Choose File System from the location combo box -> Set the path by the browse button - > Choose the language from the Language ComboBox (Visual C# , Visual Basic , J #)

choose Visual C#

4 - Click on the OK Button:-

Now you will se a new from like this :-

This is the Source Code window and in this page you will se this code…

First you have to learn XML and HTML to work with ASP .NET_

I have used <!– text –> to make the text as comment this is the way to make comment in this code …

<%@ Page Language=”C#” AutoEventWireup=”true”  CodeFile=”Default.aspx.cs” Inherits=”_Default” %>

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN” “http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd”>

<html xmlns=”http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml”>
<head runat=”server”>
<title>Specify your page title here</title>  <!– Here you can specify your page title in between title tag
</head>
<body>
<form id=”form1? runat=”server”>
<div>
<!– In between div tags you can manage your web controls like buttons, labels, picture

box, ImageMap etc –>
</div>
</form>
</body>
</html>

See here is a tab named Design in the bottom of this page

5- Click on this tab and you will see a blank web page where you can drag any control from the toolbox (which is in the left side of this window)

6- If you are not able to see the Toolbox window just go to View -> Choose Toolbox .

7 - Drag a Text Box Control under the Standard Tab on the blank page and now click on the Source tab (in the bottom of this page)

Now you will see a new line in source code …

see here :

<%@ Page Language=”C#” AutoEventWireup=”true”  CodeFile=”Default.aspx.cs” Inherits=”_Default” %>

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN” “http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd”>

<html xmlns=”http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml”>
<head runat=”server”>
<title>Untitled Page</title>
</head>
<body>
<form id=”form1? runat=”server”>
<div>

<asp:TextBox ID=”TextBox1? runat=”server” Text=”Button” /> <!– This is a new line which has added

after when you have drag a Text Box Control on the

blank web page –>
</div>
</form>
</body>
</html>

7- So you can drag any control from the toolbox to the blank web page and you can set the properties of these controls from the property window

<!– If you don’t want to drag and drop controls then you can write the code in source window for any control like if you want to add a text box in design view so write this code in source window

<asp:TextBox ID = “Txtname” runat = “server” backcolor=”red” />

you can set controls id as you wish –>

8- If You are not able to see the property window just go to View - > Select Properties Window

A new window will open on the right side of this page…

9-Select the control for which you want to set the properties

go to properties window and set the properties like TextBox BackColor

10- If you want to change the TextBox BackColor which you have added in your web site then select

the TextBox and right click on the TextBox select properties and the select the — BackColor Property from the property window and select  any color which you want

it will change the TextBox Back Color.

As well as you can take any control and then set it’s property…

Thanks !
