I am getting started with cloud hosting and Windows Azure. I tried a few months back with Microsoft but at that time, you had to pay.

Here comes the good news.

Now you can get a free Windows Azure account that will let you host your applications in a cloud computing settings and let you use services and database.

All you need is a credit card to sign-up. Your card will not be charged unless you reach the limit. When you sign-up, you will see what options are free in the left side bar. I think they are enough for us developers to do our work.

As soon as it is approved (takes about 15 minutes), you will see various options like this screen below.
