As we know that the left side menu list is a quick launch Webpart, we shall see each item in detail in my upcoming articles.

For now, just click on projects option.

Office365

When we click on Projects option, then the page redirects to Project center page, as shown above.

Now, click on the projects ribbon, as shown below.

We shall discuss later on different methods to open the projects in the upcoming articles.

Add Sharepoint Sites

We can add a SharePoint site to each project, as shown below.

Office365

Build Team

You can add the resources to the project. You can then assign the task to those resources.

Project Permissions

Set permission to each project in terms of accessing, updating etc.

Check In/Check Out

The terms ‘check in’ and ‘check out’ apply to enterprise projects, enterprise resources and to the Enterprise Global Template. A user must check out any of these before editing, so that others have Read-Only access until the user checks them back in. Check out occurs on a first come first served basis, so the first person who opens the project for editing checks out the project.

Let's see how to create custom views.

Office365

We have different lists of views, as shown above. Now, if you want to add another view, let's say I want to create Projects KPI view.

Click on the settings.

Office365

Select PWA Settings option from the dropdown. Afterwards, you will see the screen, as shown below.

Office365

Look for Manage Views option under Look and feel settings and click on it.

From above, you can see Project View as default.

Office365

Now, we have to create new View, followed by clicking on new tab, as shown below.

Office365

On clicking New View, you can see a form type register, as shown below.

Office365

Select your required view type, give the name & description to this view.

From fields box, add in required fields to the displayed fields box, as shown below.
