Being an Azure developer, you often have access to the Azure Active Directories of different organizations, whose resources you are managing. But sometimes, you would love to get rid of a bunch of unused directories linked to your account without contacting their administrators.

Now, it's possible to unlink an Azure Active Directory by just following these simple steps.

  • Log into the Active Directory Panel from here. In the upper-right corner, select your name.

  • Next to Organizations, select the settings icon (gear).

  • Click the "Profile" option from the drop-down menu. It will display the profile page where you can view the list of the organization associated with your account under the Organization section.

    Remove Azure Active Directory
  • Find the organization that you want to leave and select "Leave organization".

  • Select Leave when the popup prompts up. It will take a few minutes to update the organization list and you will also get the confirmation email once the process is completed successfully.

  • If you’re not already signed in to the organization that you want to leave, click the Sign-in button to leave the organization link and repeat the last two steps.
