Once you download and install, it will ask you to upgrade from your existing Office (2010) in my case to Office 2013. Upgrade is pretty simple. Just follow the steps.
I upgraded it and after the upgrade, see my Office icons.

New icons look like this for various applications.
Can you guess that these are all Metro Style?
YES. Entire Office 2013 is metro look. It will also have a Windows 8 metro UI soon and will support swipe and all that cool stuff.

MICROSOFT IS NOT ACTUALLY UPGRADING OFFICE 2010 PURCHASES Please note the following confirmation from Microsoft: Regardless of the version of Office 2010 that you purchase the licensing for the 2013 Upgrade only allows it to be installed on one computer and it cannot be transferred to another computer in the future. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Sheila K. Microsoft Store Email Support They are not offering an upgrade of the license, they are providing one non-transferable copy of the new software; that to me is NOT an upgrade of your purchase. I could not find this information on their site or promotion. I asked for, and received a second confirmation, since this is a major change in policy. I beleive published authors should verify, and let the public know of Microsoft's disingenuous and deceptive policy. I suggested Microsoft change the wording of their offer with no response. Thanks, Mike
