Using Public Images In Websites Safely

Often when using images on websites we use Google as the main source, but did you know you might someday end up regretting it?

Often as a quick solution people just Google for images in Google search and copy the images and start using them on their website, but this is unsafe. Each image has an owner and you need to get permission from them.

Here is a story about famous windows XP desktop wallpaper - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bliss_(image)

This image was so famous but was never used on any websites as it was bought by MS. Using images without user permission can result in reputation damage for website owners.

But there are some open source images that are free to use and allowed by the owner.

How to get free images

In Google image search there are filters which you can apply to get images that are free to use based on your purpose

Also you can use many free image websites like https://unsplash.com/ which provide free images.
