Microsoft just confirmed, it will start shipping its HoloLens on March 30, 2016. Good news for Microsoft developers. They should be able to build HoloLens apps using Microsoft's tools and programming frameworks.
HoloStudio is a HoloLens app that allows developers to create 3D in 3D with natural gestures and movement, using holographic tools modeled from tools in the real world. Create holograms of your own design and turn them into physical objects with 3D print compatibility. Developers will get hands-on understanding of how users interact with 3D content.

Amazing though that Visual Studio was not powerful enough. Irony enough, it may be published as an extension to Visual Studio. ;-)
