Active directory operations in c#

Question

Hi Friends,
                  How to create 3 tier architecture using active Directory(Data Access Layer,Business Layer and Presentation Layer).Give me some example code for 1.Login user-->Check Active Directory(User name&Password) and including errorhandling in DataAccessLayer(like informative error messages(based on inputs)).
