For ASP.NET they have a choice of 3 threads: Web Pages, MVC and Web Forms. Perhaps, nowadays, MVC is the one to go for:

Also, the Asp.net official website has a "Learn" submenu with countless number of helpful resources and a friendly forum community as well.
