binding controls in a form with variables

Hi there, Could someone help me with the following problem. I have an application that is supposed to substract a submatrix from a matrix listed in a file (a CSV file for the record). Besides the name of the file the user has to provide the coordinates of the upper left point of the submatrix(the row & the column) and the coordinates of right down point of the submatrix. The coordinates of the two points required ae entered using controls. Regarding that I have the following questions: 1) How can I parse a CSV file and find out how many columns the matrix has ? (In C++ I tried using getline function which has a param. that specifies the delimiter) 1) If at any time I want to modify the file containing the initial matrix how can tell the control that the no of rows & the no of columns of the initial matrix has been modified? 3) The last but not the least question: If the operations I perform on a matrix are put in a clas library and the application that deals with the gui is separate how can I pass the inputs provided by the user as param to the funtions that deal with the matrix?
