Boxing and Unboxing in c#

Here's a simple example of what Mayur was describing:

int x = 3; // 'x' allocated on the stack

object o = x; // it's now 'boxed' on the heap so it can be assigned to the object variable 'o'

int y = (int)o; // it's now 'unboxed' so it can be reassigned to 'y' which is allocated on the stack

When you save value types variable on stack means if you are converting it into reference types it is called boxing and same variable again if you are converting into value types then it is called unboxing
