Hi Neha,

I beleive you are aware of the datatype "object" which is generic for all other objects.

Boxing: Saving any type of variable into "object" is called boxing so you can pass this generic object to any methods without any type conversion issue.

UnBoxing: Converting the generic datatype to actual datatype, please find the code snippet below.

int var1 = 0;
object boxed = var1; //boxed here.
int unBoxedvar2 = (int)boxed; //unboxed

Boxing is the process of converting a value type to the type object Unboxing is the process of converting object type to value type.

Example

{

static void Main()

{

int i = 1;

object o = i; // boxing

int j = (int) o; // unboxing
